The House System
Every child is put into one of 4 houses when they start at our school. If a child has older siblings in the school, they will allocated into the same house.
Each house has a House Captain and Vice-Captain from Primary 7. These House Captains apply for the position, and are interviewed by Mrs. Butchart and Mrs Tonner. This gives a real life link to their learning. Children have a coloured badge to wear that indicates which house they belong to. House points are given to children for many different things from being helpful and kind to others, to doing good work, listening well, being well mannered etc. Each week the house with the most house points gets announced at Assembly.
At the end of each term the house with the most house points earned, gets a house treat. Children are consulted on what they would like for a House Treat. The treat might be time at the Activity Centre, having a party, watching a DVD etc.
The children at Annbank Primary are very proud of their house and try hard to earn as many house points as they can. When permitted under COVID mitigations, we will return to having regular House Assemblies, which give an opportunity for pupils to express their thoughts and ideas, and to participate in discussions about meeting our school values of :
